DOG PARKS & WALKS

Jeff and I have been regulars of Bartlett Park and Cemetery Park since day one, however, after lockdown started, we began looking for new parks and walks that would be interesting for the both of us to check out. These are some of our favourites so far...

BARTLETT PARK

17 Bartlett Close, E14 6LH

The star of Tower Hamlets - a fully enclosed dog park that was newly installed as part of the recent Bartlett Park refurb. It can get quite busy in the evenings now, so you might want to avoid during peak times if your pup is nervous.

THE LIMEHOUSE CUT

Basin Approach, E14 7JN

Plenty to see and sniff on this walk, lots of pubs nearby the basin if a rest is needed before heading home. Can be quite busy on the weekends though with cyclists and families.

MEMORIAL GARDENS

Twelvetrees Crescent, E3 3JG

Lookup London alerted me to this local gem. Take a stroll along Bow Creek to this little memorial park nestled between an industrial park and the Bow Gasworks.

ABERFELDY STREET

Aberfeldy Village, E14 0NU

Admittedly, this walk is more interesting for us humans than it is for the dogs, but it's a lovely local street that deserves a visit, so why not loop it into a stroll along the canals or riverside if you can.

CEMETERY PARK

Southern Grove, E3 4PX

Jeff's favourite! An enclosed park (not just for dogs though) with loads of quiet trails and things to look at for both humans & dogs alike.

MILE END DOG AGILITY COURSE

Copperfield Road, E3 4SE

An open agility course, so best for pups with good recall. A fun way to see how much exercise your dog is willing to do for treats.

CODY DOCK

South Cres, E16 4TL

A nice lockdown find during a stroll down the River Lea. Have a wander around and grab a snack and drink before heading home. The opposite side of the venue leads into the industrial park, so you'll likely want to head home the way you came.

OLYMPIC PARK

Marshgate Lane, E15 2PJ

This one's slightly further afield, but as it's one of our favourite parks, I've included it. So much to see and do here. Get here by walking along the canals, or hopping on the DLR to Pudding Mill Lane. Loads of options for refuelling with a craft beer or two before making the trek home.
